A Life Dedicated to Learning and Love

I have dedicated my life to learning different things. There is a lot of beauty and diversity in the world and I would love to explore it, absorb it and experience it. This exploration has taken me to various fields such as philosophy, psychology, dances, music, languages and a few other things.

The other thing that I am obsessed with love. I love love in all its forms. All kinds of love–  impossible love, eternal love, ephemeral love, unrequited love, forbidden love–are precious and valuable. I have experienced all these forms of love and they have made me richer as a person. I do have a lot of love in life–I don’t think I should be ungrateful–but I still yearn for love. I feel like my life’s calling is to love–to receive love and to give it.

The Crisis of Love

Well if there is a crisis in the world, why wouldn’t there be a crisis in love too? Love is as much influenced by technology, politics, economics, society as anything else. Love is not some sacred emotion which is unaffected and remains constant amidst all the change. Even if the core of love doesn’t change, its form definitely changes with all the changes around it.

My dreams

Someone asked me what my dreams are. I think my dreams usually have to do with exploring different fields and learning different things. I think of myself as a wanderer, and explorer, a traveller, an eternal student. A natural fall-out of learning is that as you acquire a certain level of proficiency in something, you begin teaching it to those who don’t know as much about the field as you do. So that’s where teaching comes in. I also don’t learn fancy and esoteric stuff. I learn things which are easily and cheaply available near-by.

I would love to travel but I don’t want to travel mindlessly just to show-off to the world how much I have travelled. Trust me, there are a lot of people  who do that. I want to travel with a purpose. That’s why i loved being in the US. I was a philosophy student ( and teaching assistant and instructor) there.

I dream of love. Love plays a far more significant role in my life than it does in other people’s lives. Sometimes I think everything I do is to attract people. (I think Foucault once said that his intellectual career was his way of attracting young, beautiful boys.I could totally relate to that. )

I dream of a better world but I have got hopeless, cynical and misanthropic as years go by. Still I try to do something which in unfortunately not much. At best I could be described as a low-level facebook activist. I have given up the project of trying to change people’s minds. I just communicate with people who are like me in fundamental ways. It is far easier. I have found it far easier to work with kids than to change adults. So I try to shape my students in a particular way as much as I can.

New resolution

I have decided to be exactly who I am and be fairly open and honest on social media. I hate hiding myself from the world. Whoever likes me can stay in my life, whoever doesn’t is free to leave.

Hello again!

I plan to write more on this blog now. I am sick and tired of Facebook and its sick racist, sexist and queerphobic community standards. I recently got banned for a day on fb for writing on there that 95% men are trash. I don’t see what I did wrong.  I am a feminist and care for women’s rights and am tired of the sexual violence that women have to face in society everyday. And who is perpetrating this violence on us?It is obviously men.  I think their problematic behavior should be called out and that’s what I did.

Googling revealed to me that several other people got banned from fb for writing similar posts. So mine wasn’t an isolated case. This totally confirmed for me how fucking sexist and racist fb is. Please see the attached screenshot to see what I had actually posted on fb.
